Practice Yoga for Anxiety Relief

Could yoga have all the answers to anxiety? Why is it that anxiety, stress, and unhappiness take over so many peoples lives? If you listen to a doubting thomas, nothing works, but if you read below, you will see some solutions.

In fact, all forms of yoga are good for our mental health. This does not mean that anxiety will disappear, but yoga gives us the tools to put anxiety in the back seat, while we determine a positive direction in life. The struggle for direction is within our minds. We must be aware of the struggle from within.

Pessimistic thought is not productive, yet there are many pessimists ruled by the dark side. For them, nothing will work because they already have the Why me attitude. Everything is against them, or so they think, and that is where the problem lies.

Unless you can master your thinking, you will not suppress negative thoughts. How does yoga do this? The principle is simple. Lets use 21st century jargon to give you a clear picture. yoga is an ancient, but constantly evolving, science of life. The yoga practitioner reprograms his or her thoughts.

Your mind is your best friend, and your worst enemy, at the same time. When you attend yoga classes regularly, under the guidance of a competent yoga teacher, your mind and body become charged with positive energy.

If you look at the facial expressions of yoga students after a class, you will notice they are in a state of bliss. If this is not the case, they have not found the right place yet. There is no need to be discouraged. We find what we seek in life.

What Is A Chip Shot And A Pitch Shot In Golf

There are two common short game shots that are used at every hole. If you want to succeed at learning to play golf and becoming a better player, it is essential that you learn how to chip and pitch great shots. Doing so will help you make up for getting inaccurate balls off of the tee and on the green.

In order to score well you must learn these important short game and to recover from off-target shots. In other words, great recovery shots are the result of well-made chip and pitch hits.

No matter how accurate and far you are able to hit the ball from the tee, without having skill at your short game, you will not enjoy the feeling of lowering your scores. It becomes a huge disadvantage. Your short game is what matters most. By having a decent chip or pitch, you can dominate the scoring zone (a 6' circle around the hole).

What Is The Difference Between The Chip & Pitch?

When playing golf, each game will be different and you may not always hit the ball onto the green with the standard amount of shots taken. many times your ball will land somewhere within the range of a short iron shot from the green. This is the time when you have to decide if it is best to shoot a chip, or a pitch.

The Chip shot: A chip shot is made when your ball lands within 5 to 10 feet from the putting surface. Basically, it is any shot that you make which is close to the green. Your goal when making a chip shot is simply to lag the ball as close to the hole as possible so that you have a very easy putt to make. Properly executed, a chip shot may go airborne for a very short distance, and lands on the green, rolling slowly towards the hole.

The Pitch shot: A pitch shot is made when the ball is hit much further from the green. Although the chip and the pitch are hit from different distances, the objective is the same: you want your pitch shot to snuggle up as close to the hole as possible so that your next putt can be made easily from a short distance of just the few feet or less.

Pitch shots also come in handy when you must send the ball airborne over a hazard area or any other obstacle. The pitch will become airborne longer and hire than a chip shot, with a bit more backspin.

Brahmacharya

Brahmacharya is the fourth of the yamas and the word, literally translated means dedicated to the Divinity of Life. The word is often used in yogic practice to refer to celibacy or denying pleasure, but this is only a small part of what Brahmacharya represents. The purpose of practicing Brahmacharya is to keep you focused on your purpose in life, the things that instill a feeling of peace and contentment

Historically, Brahamacharya as celibacy was likely a product of teaching yoga to young men, whose desires can be difficult to harness. Unless you are living the ascetic life of a sadhu, chances are you will indulge in sexual pleasure, food pleasure or any number of possible treats. To bring brahmacharya into your life and yoga practice is to practice moderation in all things, including those things that are pleasurable distractions.

When we become hooked on pleasure, it becomes an addiction and the absence of pleasure feels like loss or dissatisfaction; we become unable to enjoy the simple happiness of life, to observe the quiet broad beauty of our minds - slowing down becomes difficult because the focus becomes the object of addiction. Practicing moderation allows us to enjoy pleasure and remain focused on our greater purpose. . How does this relate to asana practice? Sometimes yoga students push themselves in yoga practice, creating a sense of urgency, correctness (am I doing this pose well?) and anxiety. This can leave a student feeling exhausted at the end of their practice rather than feeling relaxed or refreshed and ready for purposeful action off the mat.

It is important to apply moderation to moderation also, so it is not a burden. It is a beautiful practice. It is about moderating the extremes, not wanting too much and being happy with what you have. The practice of Wanting Wanting Wanting will always leave you feeling unsatisfied.

Brahmacharya can bring out many issues and energies as you begin to observe moderation - our addictions and ego rebel strenuously when they are not in control. When they arise, notice what the issues are, go deeper into your practice and discover your true motivations.

Ask yourself what is your purpose in your yoga practice? What are your goals in yoga and do you allow space in your practice to reach those goals?

In yoga,

Jenn
